In this Stand Tall Micro Interview, Danny sits down with Amy Davis, Virtual Assistant and owner of Shore Up LLC, for a short but impactful conversation about confidence, communication, and the unexpected life experiences that shape who we become.
These micro interviews highlight leaders who bring honesty, depth, and practical tools to the way they communicate and lead. Amy’s story is a powerful reminder that confidence isn’t built in the spotlight—it’s built in the trenches of everyday life.
About Our Guest: Amy DavisAmy is a Virtual Assistant and founder of Shore Up LLC, where she supports solopreneurs with organization, marketing and administrative needs.
Her ability to communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and lead with grounded confidence comes from a surprising mix of lived experiences—including her time as a detention deputy in the jails and her training in Jiu-Jitsu.
These chapters have shaped her into a leader who is communicates with confidence and courage.

What We Discuss1. Redefining ConfidenceAmy shares her personal definition of confidence—one that has nothing to do with being the loudest in the room or pretending you have it all together. Instead confidence starts with physically showing up with her head held high and authentically connecting in life and business.

2. Communication as a Core StrengthAmy reflects on the communication habits that keep her effective in her work and relationships.
She talks about her Clifton Strengths which include communication and how she uses that strength both personally and professionally. These skills weren’t learned from a textbook—they were forged through real-life experience.
3. Building inner confidence through her Life ExperiencesAs a detention deputy in the jails, Amy learned to lead with confidence and strength. Working in the jails required a level of awareness, calm, and emotional regulation that few environments demand. Amy’s also developed Jiu-Jitsu practice which has become a powerful tool for learning how to show up with confidence.
